No longer need a shift? Here's how to remove it from Patchwork.
You can easily delete a shift on Patchwork if you no longer require it for your department. Shifts can be deleted even after they have been booked.
❗It is important to delete shifts that are no longer required from the hub, both for reporting purposes and to prevent workers booking and showing up for an unnecessary shift, which can be costly to the organisation.
Deleting shift with available status
Navigate to the 'Shift' page > Select the shift(s) > Open 'Other Actions' on the task bar at the bottom of the screen > Click 'Delete'.
Deleting a shift with pending status
In order to delete a shift with pending applications, you must first reject the application.
Select the shift ID > Click 'Reject'
❗The worker will receive a notification in the app that their application has been rejected.
You can then delete the shift:
Navigate to the 'Shift' page > Select the shift(s) > Open 'Other Actions' on the task bar at the bottom of the screen > Click 'Delete'.
💡Remember, if you don't delete the shift after cancelling the booking, another worker may apply to work the shift as it is now available.
Deleting a shift with booked status
In order to delete a booked shift, you must first cancel the worker out of the booking.
Select the shift ID > Click 'Cancel Booking' > input your reason.
❗The worker will receive an email informing them that the shift has been cancelled, including the reason that you input.
🚀You can restore cancelled shifts by filtering all shifts by status deleted.
This shift can then be restored to the hub and will appear as available to book on the app for clinicians.
