Summary This article explains how to manage appraisals and appraiser access within the L2P platform, including available packages, appraiser allocation rules, multi-source feedback (MSF) options, and how to keep appraisal data independent of an employer account.
Managing appraisals and appraiser access
Available individual packages
- Package 1: Storage only for existing appraisals — £30 + VAT.
- Package 2: Full Practising Privileges storage plus access to the appraisal software — £79.50 + VAT. This package includes assistance connecting you to your chosen appraiser. L2P/Patchwork does not provide appraiser services.
- Additions: Patient and Colleague 360 multi-source feedback (MSF) is available for £79.50 + VAT. Request this when you need it; it is offered once every five years.
Appraiser allocation and access
- L2P is a software provider and is not a designated body; it does not maintain its own bank of appraisers.
- Appraisers are allocated by the organisation with which the appraisee is aligned.
- For private appraisals using L2P, you may choose your own appraiser; that appraiser will be allocated to your appraisal.
- L2P can refer you to one of its chosen appraisal partners if you need an appraiser.
Keeping appraisal data independent of an employer
- L2P can set up a dashboard to collect MSF that is independent of a current employer. This requires creating a separate L2P account using a new email address.
- If you move between organisations that both use L2P, your MSF can be carried over to the new organisation.
How to request MSF or appraiser support
- Request the Patient and Colleague 360 MSF add-on when you need it (the service is available once every five years).
- If you need an appraiser, you can either choose your own for private appraisals, or request a referral to one of L2P’s chosen appraisal partners.
Conclusion L2P provides appraisal storage and appraisal software through defined packages, supports independent MSF collection via separate accounts, and facilitates appraiser referrals, but do not provide appraisers. Appraiser allocation is managed by the appraisee’s organisation, except for private appraisals where the user may select their appraiser.
